Turning Point 

Bob decided to go to university and get a law degree. Mr Bellear began his working life in the navy.

Achievement 

Mr Show described Mr Bellear as an ''accomplished trial lawyer with a proven forensic mind''. He went to the bar and in his first case represented tradition owners in an Aboriginal land claim hearing in the Northern Territory. He was counsel assisting the Aboriginal Deaths in Custody Royal Commission. He was appointed a NSW public defender. Mr Bellear has held senior positions with The Redfern-based Aboriginal Housing Company , Aboriginal Medical Service and Aboriginal Children's Service. 

NELSON MANDELA
